Who Dat!

I love New Orleans!!! We’ve been many times now and plan on making it a regular stop over point for our east coast trips. The people there are amazingly friendly and FUN. OMG! They are fun! We tend to hang on Bourbon Street in the evenings because, well, we just can’t stay away from the 24/7 party. Who Dat! This time we stayed away from the Quarter and really enjoyed it. It gave us a chance to experience the Magazine area for breakfast and lunch. I definitely made time to visit the D-Day Museum, again. One night I even managed to meet up with Alexandra de Marco, which was a nice bonus to the trip. Unfortunately, I had a couple friends with me who wanted to be back on Bourbon Street. So, needless to say, our visit was cut short. I hope to have a much longer and more personable visit with her next time and there will be a next time.

We didn’t only hang out on Bourbon Street. We had dinner at “Mother’s” which has a lot of history and we had drinks down on the Riverwalk, right on the water.

PS- I couldn't find MY Silver Man, but I did find an impostor...

New Orleans

I've been to New Orleans a couple times before and I've had a lot of fun, each time. I've done the bar scene and honestly had more fun during the day than at night and I've walked the French Market, which incidentally is anything but French. I've even toured the WWII Museum. This time I hope to tour the Museum again but would love to hear from you. Is NOLA your city or have you been there enough to know what's good and what's not? Tell me what you think I should see this time.

New Orleans Style

I celebrated my birthday, New Orleans style with several very close friends of ours. We arrived the afternoon of the sixth and were lucky enough to meet up with Aimeelynn and her crew. It was just happenstance that we were in NOLA on the same weekend. We rented one of the oldest homes in the area for the weekend. Once we unpacked and made ourselves at home we freshened up and hit the streets. We stopped at the first bar that we came too where we had a couple drinks before making our way further down Bourbon Street. Devil wined and dined me, Cajun style. From there we made our way back to the first bar where the bartender promised a drink on the house. I definitely couldn’t say no to that! We managed to hook up with Aimeelynn and her eight friends and partied well into the night in the French Quarter. I have to say, she’s someone I met several years ago and ihere we had a couple drinks before making our way further down Bourbon Street. Devil wined and dined me, Cajun style. From there we made our way back to the first bar where the bartender promised a drink on the house. I definitely couldn’t say no to that! We managed to hook up with Aimeelynn and her eight friends and partied well into the night in the French Quarter. I have to say, she’s someone I met several years ago, in New Orleans, and we’ve met several times since and she’s always just as fun as she was during that first meeting. The rest of our weekend in the Speak Easy was spent with our closest friends from Austin. They drove all night to arrive early Friday morning. We had a great time in New Orleans and I have to say, I’ve never celebrated my birthday and to have friends around me this year was a great way to start.
