Ghosts of San Antonio

Sunday night I woke up around 2:30, wide awake. I refused to open my eyes for about 20 minutes; obviously I was in denial that I was awake and sleep was eluding me. When I gave in I surfed the channels to find that nothing was on. Well, nothing except the "Ghosts of San Antonio". Usually I would have opted for pulling out my toe nails instead of scaring myself senseless, but I wondered how haunted could San Antone really be. It's pretty fucking haunted, apparently. I can say with certainty that I will not be staying overnight in any hotel, no matter when it was built. First of all, ghosts travel and find new homes, when the mood strikes, it would seem, and I'm just not up for surprises like that! Second, Captain King (of the King Ranch) haunts a bed at a hotel that he used to frequent. Not his room, his bed. In other words, it doesn't matter that they've moved his bed over the years, he watches over those who sleep in THAT bed now. Um, CREEPY. Needless to say, I was still awake at 5:45 wondering if our ghost, that Devil is trying to convince me that we have, was the cause of all that noise I kept hearing in our kitchen. Our kitchen being the only room that our said ghost frequents. He/she must have had a terrible accident underneath, centuries ago and is angry, only in that one spot!

Hugh & Buffett

When I was in Florida last year Kristine was so sweet to take me to the Mote Marine so that I could gawk over the Manatee's. They have two, Hugh and Buffett (like the singer, not the food line). A New Fridge. WOOT!

Since most of you know that we've been having major issues with our refrigerator I thought I should tell you the good news. Just to give you an update- we've had a service call twice a week for the last month. First it wasn't cooling, then it was freezing and then it was mediocre and all of our food spoiled. Devil called them again today and they've decided that after two months of service calls and over $600 in repairs that it's time they just replace the damn thing. What's even better than that is the fact that we've had the fridge for over eight years and just bought the warranty 4 months ago. That's good karma, good luck or both. I'm not sure which but I'll take it!

Shoes!

I have developed a fetish for shoes. It's true. I don't really know how or even when it happened, but I think I might have been sleeping when it struck. lol. The problem is, I hate shopping and more than that, I hate spending money, unless it's on plants. I know, there's no sense in that seeing as though my plants die. Anyway, back to shoes. So, as I was saying, I hate shopping. I'm lucky because Devil will sometimes find a site with a huge sale on shoes and he'll surprise me with several pairs. I'm lucky, I know! Anyway, I have three favorite pairs that I wear out all the time. I favor them all, equally. I do not discriminate. All other pairs I keep for photo shoots and whatnot. While we were in Tampa, in November, two pairs broke while out. Strange because I've never broken a pair of shoes but all of a sudden two different pairs broke. I was distraught, to say the least. Those were 2, out of 3 pairs that are my favorite. I'm down to 1 pair now...that broke Friday night. Un-fucking-believable! Can someone please tell me why my mother fucking shoes are breaking all of a sudden? I am not hard on my shoes. I take care of them and always put them up when I'm not wearing them. Give me an answer, for the love of god, it makes no sense. So, now I have no favorites. I'm going to have to go barefoot or wear tennis shoes when I go out, in a dress. lol.

Memorial Day

I'm sorry to have missed Memorial Day, this year, but couldn't go without posting something...a day late, I know. Memorial day was first observed on May 30, 1868, by New York and then a few years later by all northern states. After World War I it was recognized by most states and for any fallen solder who fought in a war, not just the Civil War.

I'd like to take a moment to thank those fallen soldiers, but also their families and friends, for whom their sacrifice was most deeply felt.

Giving Back

I've posted a couple times about my WWII vet, and his lovely bride. This post is just something that I've been thinking about for awhile and, although, I'm sure you get tired of reading some of my topics, I decided to post another one on old people. My first visit with Bob and his wife was at the beginning of the month. I admit, it was 100% selfishness on my part. You see, like I said, I have a thing for geriatric aged people and he fought in the second World War. I wasn't sure if he would want to talk on the subject, but I at least wanted to shake his hand and thank him for his duty, and for his sacrifice to our country. It wasn't until my husband and I paid them a visit at their apartment a few weeks later that I realized how much they were getting out of it. They were so excited when they found out we wanted to have lunch with them. Most of us, or at least I would frantically pick up the house, run the vacuum, make it appear that no one lives at home to make a messy house. They didn't. They were so excited to have company that they weren't worried about any of the unimportant bullshit of everyday life. They treated us to lunch, gave us a tour of their apartment complex, introduced us to their favorite neighbor and she even had me meet her hair stylist. I thought for sure they'd be exhausted by the time we returned to their place but they were ready to spend a few hours visiting. When we were saying our good-byes she walked us to our car and she begged us to not forget them. That's what the moral of this blog post is. We didn't do anything special for them, we just simply gave them our afternoon. That made their entire month, she said. We're going to pick them up Monday and take them over to meet my father-in-law who is a retired Marine Colonel and they couldn't be happier.
Believe me, I'm not patting myself on the back, although, it does kind of appear that I am. I'm just saying that it means the world to people when YOU stop by and say hi. In fact, I'm a bit embarrassed, but there's a friend of Mom's whose house I drive by twice a day. I stopped in to visit with her about a year ago and she couldn't stop smiling. She reminisced about my parents, the kids, me and my brothers. What life used to be like. It made me feel good to know that I brightened her day. But, I haven't been back. I tell myself, twice a day, that I need to stop but I don't have longer than a few minutes so I don't. So, shame on me! Before we leave for our Virginia trip, I'm going to stop, if only for a few minutes, which will inevitably turn into a couple of hours. But, I'm willing to give up an afternoon to make her feel remembered and loved.

Dinner with a GF

Last night I had dinner with a long time friend of mine. It's rare that we do this and each time we do, we say we need to do it more than once a year. We met at 6 and said good bye at 9, that's a great evening spent in good conversations. We caught up on job news, world news, local news and well, solving world peace. Oh, and our waitress. LOL. And, for those of you who are wondering if we boned the waitress, the answer is no. Believe it or not, I do manage to go three hours without jumping someone, in public, none the less. lol. Hi there. I hope this finds you all doing well and looking forward to an extra long weekend. I've been absent, to say the least, from emails, twitter and, unfortunately, my blog. There's a few things going on in my world that has needed my attention and that has given me less time for other things. I just wanted to let you know that all is well and we're doing great. Thank you all for the emails and direct messages you've sent. June looks to be busy, as well, but for different reasons. We're being pulled in every different direction. For the first half we may or may not be in Vegas and then Seattle. Still, no one knows. That's not giving me much time to get the house closed down for a two week trip, now is it? Then, the last part of the month we'll be in VA, D.C and finally, Philly. It's going to be a great trip, that one, and I'm looking forward to it. I do, however, plan on blogging and emailing as much as possible, and of course, I have a smart phone now and will definitely be Tweeting throughout the days and nights. So, even though you won't see me on cam and you won't be able to lurk and spy on me (lol), you will see me here and there, just as much as you're used to, maybe even more.

Twitter #FF Hiatus

This might come across a little, um, brash, but I'm taking a hiatus from the #FF on Twitter. For those of you whom are not aware of what that is, #FF stands for FollowFriday. Basically, it's a suggestion list that you send out to all of your followers so that they can find new people to interact with. If I enjoy "Cliff", "NiceGuy" and "Cowboybubba" I send a #FF out to all of my followers. It's kind of like an endorsement, if you will. Anyway, to be blunt, it's turned into a huge cluster fuck of tweets from mid-Thursday to Saturday mornings. That's not why I'm taking a summer break though.

Here's the thing, it's hard to remember EVERYONE that I tweet with and even if I did, it would take me 4 hours of non-stop tweeting to complete #FF. So, as it is, I go down my timeline and click names of those whom I'd like to suggest, but if you don't tweet often, your name isn't on my timeline. People get insulted and their feelings hurt if they feel you've left them off. It's like high school! I receive direct messages and emails as a "reminder" or a "hey, did you forget me? waaaaa" and I have received more today than normal so I'm taking a break. Instead of being annoyed and silently screaming at you, I'm walking away from what started out as a good thing but has turned into nothing but a cluster fuck of names. For those of you, who are not one of the whiners, I hope you don't take offense to this and if you continue to add me on your #FF list, I will be honored, but if you don't, please know I won't be hurt. I definitely understand.

May 21, 2011: The end is near!

It has been said that the end of time is near and will occur in just two days. Over 200 million people will be raptured, whatever the hell that means. The same individual also predicted that the end of time would take place in 1994 and that day came and went. I bet his followers felt like a bunch of tools, as they should have, because that's all they were. Tools in his "get rich scheme". The only problem is, he's the only one getting rich. I mean, seriously? I'm just saying that if someone is mentally whacked, screaming the sky is falling, maybe you should hold on to your life savings. Simple as that. Another red flag would be the fact that "Jesus" said in Matthew 25: 13, "Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man comes." and yet, this dude has come up with a mathematical explanation to the end of time. So, we have two days left. What do we do? Go out and pilfer from the innocent, like he has been doing for the last 20 years? At one time I thought anyone willing to follow a whack job had to be nothing but an ignorant, unintelligent fool. However, I think some are just desperate to hope and have faith in something. Unfortunately, it's him, who has padded his bank accounts with other peoples hard earned cash. Now, with all of that said, those faithful people need to wake the fuck up! He has been a lunatic for two decades! That's twenty fucking years. When are people going to finally realize that those who go on tour to proclaim GOD's love and ask for donations are just another form of the Bernie Madoff's that are now in prison.
Okay, so since you have two days left to live, before God or Jesus strikes us dead, what are you going to do?
I'm going to rob a bank, shoot my neighbor and do some ecstasy for my front row seat. If I'm going to be "raptured" I want to at least think it feels good. LOL.

Sole Survivor

I've decided that living in the country is dangerous to my health but I don't think I'd make a good "city" neighbor. I mean, I walk out in my panties, I complain if I see our neighbor, who is 5 acres away, burning fuel like it's FREE. I love it and could not live anywhere else but it's definitely not good for my health. The reason I say this is I find myself wanting to blow up every deer, armadillo and opossum that I see. That can't be healthy, the hate that I have for these creatures. I should be able to live with them in the country, right? I finally have figured out what plants the deer won't touch. I've finally, for the first time, started to have growth in my garden. Now that I have won the battle against the deer I have opossums eating my ferns and armadillos digging at the roots. I cannot win! However, that is much better than Devil's vegetable garden. It's been growing like a bunch of weeds and all of the plants were starting to bear fruit. One morning Devil walks out and the entire garden is gone! GONE, with the exception of one lonely tomato plant that has no leaves, just the stem remains. NOW he sees the problem I have had with the deer. They're pesky little fuckers! Unfortunately, while they were munching on his veggie buffet, they spotted my jasmine vine that was growing incredibly fast. However, they don't like jasmine. It's a bit too woody for them. I just wish they would have realized this before they ate the right side.

So, maybe next month we will have garden fresh veggies.

Repair Service

We have a stainless steal side by side refrigerator. It's a high end model, I guess, but we got a great deal on it about eight years ago and since Devil is a cook, we need a good sized fridge. About four years ago we had an entire fridge of food go sour because it stopped cooling. We called the repair man who happened to be a bible thumping unreliable prick. A great combo, let me tell you. In four weeks time he wouldn't return phone calls, he'd show up at the crack of dawn and he kept telling us that he needed to order parts. Mind you, this went on for four weeks. The last time he showed up we'd been trying to reach him for five days and it was my only day off. He knocked on the door at 730am. That was the last fucking time this god loving fruit loop was in my home. For four years our fridge has been serviced for the same issue. As soon as they defrost the heating element they leave. Well fuck me, I can do that. For a week or so the fridge side freezes on the top 3 shelves. What a pain in the ass. Then it stops cooling and within three weeks of the service call our freezer has frozen over and needs to be defrosted. This has been going on for four years! I'm ready to kick it to the curb and buy a new one. Devil isn't because this is, or should be, a good fridge. A couple months ago he bought a warranty through Sears. We've had three service calls now. The first guy did what all the others would do. Empty the freezer. Pull the back cover off. Defrost the heating element. And then leave. Thus, starting the vicious cycle over. This past weekend we had a new guy. He actually listened to Devil's long list of issues, including all service call results. Thankfully he decided that's obviously not fixing the problem and actually looked into finding the main issue. The first thing he found was that the damper wasn't even plugged in. The damper is the thing that opens and closes as the fridge needs cooling. (it's in the side panel between the freezer and fridge). Not only that, it was the wrong one. The wrong one! So, that was an easy fix to four years of hassle. Right? WRONG! The next day we woke up and everything in the fridge was frozen. Not just the top three shelves, the entire fucking fridge. FROZEN! So, out comes the same repairman. He's pulled the entire back panel off and there's a wire that was cut and the mother board that the god fearing nut case installed was wrong, as well. So, it all goes back to the initial service call. He's the only one that has ever replaced anything. However, I cannot place the sole blame on him. We have had countless number of technicians out and they all have just defrosted the heating element and left. What a frustrating experience. I hope that this is the last time we have someone out to look at the mother fucking refrigerator. I will kick it to the curb, hear my words, Devil!

Bittersweet

Today our niece has moved to California and we just found out she was moving yesterday. Thankfully our small town is on her way out west and she made the time to stop for a quick bite to eat and a hug good bye. She's always been a sweetheart and she's definitely old enough to make a big decision like that but I hate to see her go. However, I'm happy for her. I made a few moves when I was younger than she, and it devastated my family, so I certainly can't fault her. She's moving for a boy. A boy! Ack! This boy she's known for years and I trust that she's doing what's best for her, she is a smart one, after all, and it's time she spread her wings. I'm just selfish and wish that she'd spread her wings here in central Texas but at least I admit it, right?

My WWII Vet

If you've read any of my blog or joined a few of my weekly cam shows, you probably know I love history but more specifically anything about World War II. A couple weeks ago we learned that one of our friends takes care of a 93 year old veteran and his wife. Fortunately, Bob is still very sharp and loves talking about his WWII experiences, as long as he has people interested in hearing his stories. He's not only sharp as a tack, but feisty as hell. He wears a WWII Veterans hat ONLY because his wife, of 1 year, makes him. She told him a long time ago that he needs to wear it so people know that he fought for his country. He looked at me and shrugged his shoulders and said, "so, I wear the damned cap now". I responded, "you have earned that right and the respect that comes along with it." He was in the second wave of soldiers to land on Omaha Beach on D-Day. The harsh fighting was over with, for the time being, but he was in charge of gathering intelligence and keeping his Division up to date on enemy movement. He was shot three times during the war, twice being put back into active duty. The last time, however, wounded him too severely for him to continue the fight. The conversation over lunch moved from the war to his life when he returned home, back to the war and then onto his new bride and back to his late wife. From there he went to talk about stealing k-rations and drinking cognac with his buddies and then on to how he met his current wife. They love to say they're newlyweds. She's almost 20 years younger and they cuss and laugh like you wouldn't believe. She first used "AH" (for asshole) and "a you know what" (for bitch) when Devil said, "go ahead, say bitch. You'll feel better". Her eyes got wide and as she looked at me she said, "she really was a BITCH!" The entire table started laughing and she said, "I like to cuss!" They've known each other for 40 years and I think it's so precious that they have each other to care for and to reminisce of what life used to be like. I think they keep one another sharp and she keeps him sharing WWII with our generations. As our generations get younger the greatest generation dies and it's sad to think that one day most people won't know anything about D-Day or the Bataan Death March. We'll be lucky if they remember Pearl Harbor. That, to me, is heart breaking. I have to say the same for our current war. History repeats itself. By the time our generations come and go this, too, will be forgotten. When I see a soldier in uniform or with a cap that says "Veteran" I want to shake his hand and give him a hug. I want to thank him for his service and let him know that I care. I care enough to take time out of my busy life to listen and to show my appreciation for what they gave up. Because of what they gave up, I'm able to share my life online. So, if you're a soldier and you're reading this, THANK YOU. If you're a family member who has soldiers you call Dad, Uncle, Brother, Aunt and Mom, THANK YOU.

Cinco de Mayo

Viva! el Cinco de Mayo! This is a day to celebrate in the United States and in Mexico, especially in the city of Puebla. We observe this day to celebrate Mexican heritage and pride, and of course, to drink! *cheers* In Pueblo, however, it is to commemorate the unlikely victory over France (those damn Frenchmen) during the battle of Puebla (May 5, 1862). People seem to think this is the Mexican Independence day, but those people are wrong! Are you one of those people? In the event that you are, I won't say they're stupid for thinking that, they're just flat out wrong!
Apparently, events leading up the Cinco de Mayo is what left Mexico Bankrupt. There's a long explanation for this but I'll give it to you on a bumper sticker. France and Britain negotiated with Mexico and withdrew their naval forces but the French, well they did not! Napoleon III took this opportunity to establish a Latin empire in Mexico to favor the French interests. This resulted in the battle of Puebla and the Mexicans came through! Their 4,000 men army fought a much stronger, better equipped French army and won! This did not end the war. It was just a major stepping stone and we celebrate it with reason still to this day!
The French still managed to win and rule for three years but then the Mexican's got together with their cousins, the American's, and shot the Frenchman dead! He might have been hanged, it's hard to say. Either way, they executed him, along with his Mexican Generals (fucking traitors).
This had impact on the Civil War and ultimately played a big part in the United States building the biggest army EVER and defeating the south at Gettysburg. Thus, a reason to celebrate Cinco de Mayo in the states.

For those interested in the Civil War history:
It has been argued that the goal of France was to break up the American Union by helping the Southern Confederacy. Mexico won a great victory, keeping Napolean III from supplying the confederate rebels for another year. During this year the United States was able to build the greatest army the world had ever seen. The U.S. celebrated victory at Gettysburg 14 months after the battle of Puebla, creating a major turning point in the Civil War. So, there is great reason behind the celebration the 5th day of May.
Justo Sierra has written, "had Mexico not defeated the French in Puebla, France would have gone to the aid of the South in the U.S. Civil War and the United States' destiny could have been very different."

Mini Vacation

I had a mini vacation weekend and it was awesome! We met a group of friends at a nudist resort, in the College Station area. It was overcast Saturday so I didn't get any sun, but we hung out at the pool, drinking and meeting new friends. That night we went to the club and danced for awhile before making our way to the outside hot tub. There were eight of us in our group and it made for some great laughs. Sunday we slept in but made our way over to the RV that was our meeting spot. Devil cooked up an awesome breakfast and we sat around visiting until it was time for us to head home. It was over 90 degrees when we left and when we arrived home, three hours later, it was below 60 degrees. This weather is crazy but I'm so glad that the weather gods was looking after me this weekend. Although, it was overcast, it was still nice and warm and we enjoyed 2 days of visiting with old friends and making new ones. In fact, I think we might have them all over this weekend...but, we'll see.

I really needed the break and now I feel refreshed and ready for the week ahead.

Small Town Festival

It's been a few days since I last posted and for that, I am sorry. It seems that I'm always on the go from the time my feet hit the ground in the morning.
This past weekend we went to an annual festival and the weather couldn't have been better, with the exception of the wind and the fire that came considerably close to our home. This is an event that has been going on since I was about 10 years old and, although, we still have the B-B-Q cook offs, the washer pitching contests and the carnival rides, the event has grown. There are vendors, food and crafts a like, that travel from all over central Texas to set up a booth for this weekend. Since I had what I like to call "free" money from the poker party tips, I actually enjoyed walking the booths this year. June Trip- VA/D.C. Area

My father-in-law has an upcoming H.S. Reunion, which will be in Virginia, in June. This will be the last one that he attends, so he says, because he's 76 years old and he's ready to be done with them. I guess. lol. He's a retired Marine Colonel who is also a pilot and he refuses to travel by way of commercial planes. Anyway, we plan on spending 3 days in his small home town, which he says is one day too long as it is, and then we're heading up to the D.C area and over to Philly from there. It appears that all of June will be spent on the road. The first half of the month we'll be in Seattle moving Devil's sister back to Austin. We'll be home long enough to do laundry and feed the dogs. I sure hope June is good to me. lol.

We went to a Lifestyle Party on Sunday, at Ken and Mary's house. If you've ever been to our Annual January Birthday Party, then you've met them.

Spring BBQ

Have you ever wondered why April 1st is called "April Fools Day"? Huh, no? Well, you do now and I'm about to tell you. Pay attention, there might be a quiz later. lol.

Unfortunately, like most things, it's uncertain as to the origin, but the recent "thinking" is that when Charles IX introduced the new Gregorian Calendar, New Years was changed to Jan. 1st, instead of the first of April. Obviously communication moved slow back 'in the day' (I've always wanted to use that) so it took several years for some people to hear of this change. Not everyone was willing to accept this change, I mean, who would? So, those folks were often considered to be 'fools' and often times they'd receive invitations for big gala's and major events to celebrate the former new year but, in fact, there were no parties. Some people would even go as far as to play pranks on those fools.
As with anything, it evolved over time and the tradition spread to other places, like Britain and Scotland and eventually to the American Colonies, because of the English and French. So, now it is an International holiday that is celebrated by all of us fools. Depending on where you are, depends on how this day is actually celebrated. Some countries throw flour on friends, others only celebrate until noon and then some throw paint. I think I'm going to throw paint and then a bag of flour on someone today.

Banana Tree

Since the post regarding my "green thumb", I've had some requests for pictures of the banana tree. When I wrote that one I had yet to see any life in the banana tree because I cut it to the ground, as instructed. The trunk actually appeared to be rotting but I guess when I flooded it, like it was in a rain forest, it did something to wake it up because it's growing at a lightening speed. I haven't measured it day by day but I am positive it's adding 1-2 inches a day. It's insane!

Since I'm proudly showing my green thumb off, I'm going to go ahead and brag about my cross vine. This one I planted last year and I was lucky if it had one bloom on it, at a time, and it seemed a bit dormant. This year it's growing like a weed and it's full of blooms!! WOOT! That's my vision working, baby. Yeah, baby! I did that too. lol.

I'm currently reading "Brute" which is a story about one of the most known Marines in history. He got his start in World War II which is why I'm reading it. The last book I read was about the Japanese Submarine that was sunk, which was a pivotal point for the U.S. but we didn't know it at the time.

West Coast

My Thumb is GREEN!

I have proof that my "vision" for this year has produced a green thumb in me! I have recently come to realize that my lack of vision could be, and most likely is, the reason for my serial plant kills. But, this year I have VISION!

I love Plumbago's but the deer love them even more than that because they eat them as quickly as I plant them. So, I finally had a good idea and planted one in a huge pot and it worked until one day I walked out and the plant was, well dead. Let me recap- one day it was alive, the very next day it was dead. That's really how it happened. So, I had one of my consulting gardeners take a look at it and she was also baffled. I cut it to the ground and the other day I noticed it's sporting bright green leaves. WOOT!

Now, if I could just bring my Banana Tree back from the dead, I would be very happy. I cut it to the ground, as instructed, and was told that it would come back 10 times as strong..well, the fucker looks pretty fucking dead to me. I flooded it with water last week because they love water and they thrive in the rain forest. That seemed like a good idea, right? Well, maybe not so smart because the next day the base was shredded like it was rotten and falling apart. I think there's a reason they're not so native here. lol.

After Party Fun

My Weekend

We framed the entire roof, in just a couple of hours and now, today the decking goes on before the shingles. Before long, he'll be moving all of his tools into his new shed. It's going to be an awesome thing. After that, we have a really big project which is very exciting but I'll save that for another day.

How much does leaving a light on really cost? The reason I ask is because I have a tendency to leave the lights on in the house. It's a horrible habit, I admit, but it's one I'm having trouble breaking. Although, I told Devil last night that I will do my best to turn every light off when I leave the room. So far I've had to go back through the house and turn them all off a few times already. So much for remembering that one. Anyway, when the light is on, is it adding $$$ for our, already crooked, electric company?

P.S. I haven't told him this part, but when he's out with the guys, I leave every light on in the house until I go to bed. I mean, if someone is standing in the bathtub waiting to jump me, I want to at least see him. Skunk vs. Deer

This is a strange topic, I agree, especially with it being my "porn" blog, but here's the thing, I've been trying to think of something to blog about for two days now. So, this is all I have...

Last night we went out to dinner with some friends and on the way home a skunk darted out in front of me. Living in the Texas hill country we have hit our share of deer and taken on quiet a bit of damage to our vehicles. When a deer runs out into the road I just slow down and hit them head on. There's no sense in swerving because you don't know what the animal is going to do, who is already pretty freaked out as it is, and plus it's not worth doing more damage to the car by running off the road or worse, flipping it in a ditch. A skunk, that's another story. I will swerve and drive off the road to avoid hitting a skunk. There is no amount of money that could ever get that horrible stench out of the interior and the a/c ducts. Holy crap. Can you imagine? Tyson had a run in with a skunk a couple years ago and it took me weeks to get it out of him. Poor baby, he didn't even want to smell himself. Anyway, last night a skunk darted out in front of me and I hit the breaks and swerved enough to miss him but not enough to hit the ditch...so, that was a huge bonus.

As most of you know, my husband is a professional photographer and he had just bought several new backdrops; when that happens, I tend to be the subject matter while he tests lighting and whatnot. Since I normally don't use backdrops for my site I never know what to do when I'm in front of one. So, usually I just pose like this, move like that, do this and that and ask, "Is this stupid?". Handicap Parking

I know what you're thinking, this blog has turned into one of my long rants, but you'd be wrong! Well, kind of. It just seems like people are going out of their way to irk me. lol. You see, here's the thing, in the last week I've watched two different people, hauling ass through the parking lot and coming to a screeching halt in a handicap parking spot.
At Home Depot I was patiently waiting for Devil and a 30-ish jackass pulls in next to me, almost hitting the wheelchair post, gets out, without a limp, spends 10 minutes getting his kid out of the back seat and then walks into the store. There was absolutely nothing wrong with him! NOTHING! I was flabbergasted. He then walks back out, past the car, all the way down the aisle just to get one of those "toy car" carts for kids. He obviously was in no hurry (which still doesn't excuse it) nor was he handicapped in any way.
Last night we were at H-E-B (not pronounced as the word Heb, it's H-E-B) when a middle aged soccer mom, driving a huge ass suburban, pulls into a handicap spot and then sprints past me and Devil...SPRINTED past us. Then runs to get a cart, rushing past us again to beat us inside the fucking store. That's not fucking handicapped! It pisses me off that people like that abuse the system. It amazes me that they're not embarrassed! I felt like tripping her and giving her a handicap. I had a handicap tag for a couple of years for Dad and I never used it. NEVER! Usually when he was with me, I'd drop him off at the door and then park it, in a NON-handicap spot, or he'd stay in the car. We had it in case we needed it but we always left the designated parking for those handicappers who were alone and didn't have someone to drop them at the door. So, I'm baffled at people, my age, and obviously without a handicap, who feel that they can park there because they're in a hurry or are to fucking lazy to walk an extra 10 feet to the door.
There's my rant...I'll try to hold off on my next hostile rant so I don't wear you guys out...and believe me, I have more. lol.

2011 Garden Ideas

So, you know how I have been trying to have a garden for over four years now? I've decided to stop planting sun loving plants in the shade, which is where my garden is. I've also realized that trying to plant something that I find beautiful isn't a good idea either because those are what the deer find to be deliciously tasteful. I've also come up with a MASTER plan, which, if you ask me, is the best plan of all plans! Okay, here it goes. I'm going to have potted plants all over our patio that will house the flowers that the deer like to eat. I will then have Cowboy Bubba sitting on the deck with a rifle. In my north side garden I'm going to have a Cross Vine (that has already been planted), a shrub of some sort and then I'm going to add a truck load of ferns. They love shade, deer hate them and they don't die, even when I try to kill them. That's a damn good sign for me and my garden. Over in front of the pump house I'm going to plant moon flower vines that Randy (the windmill maker) sent to me. This area has an hour of morning sun and then a couple hours of late afternoon sun.

Here's what I would like from you...what do you have in your garden that you think mine is lacking? I will have an awesome garden by the fall, damn it, if it's the last thing I do! I've resorted to reading a text book on gardening, that's how much I really want a garden. So, please post your ideas...please!

The Word "Y'all"

The use of "Y'all" is over used, in my opinion, and it's really used out of context by those who are from somewhere other than the south. It's a slang word that was created to mean "you all" or "you guys". It irks me when someone learns that I'm from Texas and they say, "Howdy, how are y'all". First of all, it's not really a Texas word, although we use it, second of all, you don't say "y'all" when you're only speaking to me, as in ONE FUCKING PERSON! You use "y'all" in a plural sense and saying it with the word "howdy" makes you look like an ignorant fool. We don't use that word in redneck fashion which is how I feel it's used when it's said by someone who really believes we all talk like that! Also, I don't use the word "y'all" so if you're saying it to me, to be cute, you don't know me well at all. I'm not saying, I'm just saying. With that said, I don't use that word because I'm the only Texan in my family and growing up my brothers and parents refused to conform to the "southern slang" use of words so I never picked them up myself. So, that's that. Don't use the fucking word to be cool, dude!

What does V-Day mean to you? I'm always curious because it seems this day, like a few others, has been commercialized. It is the most profitable day for florists and greeting card companies and there's a huge expectation for couples that shouldn't be there, in my opinion. I also think that people, ladies in general, have an ill-conceived idea of what this day is all about and that puts pressure on the men in our lives to try to read in between the lines. I don't really have a "crazy person" story to share, but one year Devil cut out a huge heart and hung it around our first boxer's neck and he was waiting at the door for me when I walked in from work. Old Man Winter...

...can kiss my ass! Holy fuck me, it has been incredibly cold for the past few weeks and it's pissing me the fuck off. Okay, now that I have that little outburst out of the way, I can get on with my gripe. We have been hit hard with below zero temps and 45 mph north winds which has resulted in freezing our water tap. It appears that everyone who lives in the hill country and/or on a well have had this same experience. If that's not bad enough we had a few water line breaks when it finally reached above freezing on day three. We're just not equipped for this type of cold weather. I mean, our February can be brutal with heavy winds and freezing rain but nothing like this. In fact, we finally had a 45 degree day just for another cold front to blow through last night. Unfortunately, we have one more night of freezing temps before we can expect some decent weather. Although, anything above 40 would be decent weather at this point. I have never been so ready for spring as I am this year. Not only has it been nasty and miserably cold but my house is a complete and utter wreck. The dogs have wreaked havoc, bless their hearts, and the water issue has left my floors and sinks in a muddy mess. Oh, and on top of all of that, my washer was busted for a few days so the laundry is backed up and I hate to even open that door...good lord, chaos is my friend right now and I'm sure hating my friend....

Being a "Porn Star" does not make a person unreliable nor does it make someone scum. After watching the news this morning, there's another news story blasting someones credibility because she's an adult film actress. It's disappointing to hear my favorite news anchor speak of such ill regard towards someone just because of what they do. If that was not bad enough she interviewed a lawyer, which is obviously a "professional" and not scum, who, and I quote, said "well, it's obvious she will do anything for money which makes her an unreliable witness."
I don't consider myself to be a porn star, by any means, but it's insulting to think that in today's society there are still such opinionated jackasses who judge others. And, in my opinion, I don't think being a lawyer automatically makes you an expert on other professions. If anything, it makes you someone who will most likely do anything for money and fame...not to say there are not good lawyers out there, I've married a family of lawyers, but I've also met my fair share of porn actresses and I can tell you, it's a business just like any other and there are good people who are having fun making money. A Drunken Bet

We went out to dinner last night with a couple of my members and one of Devil's friends met up with us and he talked me into doing shots with him. A Reason to Party

We just had our second annual Birthday celebration for Bubba and Hedo. They're both members of my site and after meeting them several times at events and for dinner, we've gotten to know them pretty well. Last year I learned that they share the same birthday, January 22nd, and we thought that was a damn good reason to party. Wouldn't you agree? So, last year we had around 20 people show up and it was such a huge hit and everyone has talked about it, over the past year, that we're making it an annual event.

Last night we had over 30 people come out for this big celebration and it was, by far, the best party that we've thrown to date. This one even beats our 10th Anniversary party that we threw in September.

The party started at 630p and the last couple left around 3a and that was only because everyone staying at our house was going to bed. I'd say this was a huge success. I'll post pictures over the next couple of days but I wanted to thank the two birthday boys for allowing us to celebrate their birthday's with them.

Without question, without fail and without excuses. OFF. Tuesday nights are mine. They are and that's all there is to it. Well, this past Tuesday he worked and thought it should be okay and it's not! So, what did we do? ... Scratch that. What did I do? I talked about him to everyone else who is aware that Tuesday's are mine. Those who don't miss for trivial bullshit, like work, were there to listen and I have to say we did accomplish somethings. Maybe that'll teach HIM to miss, again! Pffft! (no pffft'ng! back, dude).

2011 Resolutions

I've been lax on blogging this year and it's been over two weeks since I've given you all a real blog post. TWO WEEKS! So, since I told you how much fun it is to make up resolutions I figured I should at list make a fucking list! Here's what I have:

1. Not enough time in the day. This is obviously a problem because I never have time to do everything that I have to do. So, I'm going to figure out how to expand the day as you know it. I mean, 24 hours, really? Who can get everything done in that amount of time? The answer is no one!

2. Daylight Savings Time. Stupid! I'm going to write whoever it is that is in charge of this. First, I need to find out who that is and if it is just one person or an entire section of gov't. Personally, I think they have better things to do than to keep us on fucking Daylight Savings. I mean, really. I understand why the farmers/ranchers needed it, once upon a time but are we still in that time? NO! The answer is no!

3. Gardening is going to become a reality. You knew that was going to be on the list and I probably don't need to explain myself but then what fun would that be? I really want a garden! I try each year and each year my plants die. I think I've realized the error of my ways. So, here it is. My garden is on the north side of the house. Stupid, I know, but how did I know that it would effect my plants as much as it has. I want bright, bold blooming plants and the only thing that will grow in the shade are boring fucking green bushy plants. This year, I'm going to give in and plant those fuckers and expect an awesome garden. Here's the better plan though. I'm going to have containers all over the deck and the other side of the house that are going to have the plants I really want. That is going to be a success. I no longer plan to kill plants. Wish me luck!

4. Remember that I have a thigh master. lol. That in itself, explains this one.

5. I'm going to blog about everything! Just kidding. But I'm going to try to find more time to blog, which means I'm going to have to definitely master my #1 resolution.

6. I need to convince Devil that I don't have enough socks or panties and I need more. I'm not a shopper so if I were to tell him that I need more shoes or clothes, he wouldn't even blink. BUT socks and panties, well, he'd go to my closet and pull out my drawers of panties and baskets of socks. What can I say to that? "Um, well, um, I really need new ones though. Those are so yesterday, dude!" ... any suggestions? This really should be my number 1 resolution and it's going to be, by far, the toughest one to complete.

This is kind of a random post, but I've had a lot of ladies ask me lately about getting into the web cam business so I figured I'd "blog" about it.

To keep it short, I'll generalize it, for the most part, and you can email me with questions, if you'd like.

Week of Resolutions

Here we are, another year behind us and a new year ahead of us. This is when a lot of people start making lists. Lists of resolutions, to do lists, wish lists and a list of hopes. I suppose they're all the same, when it comes down to it. Are you a list maker? I've never, until recent years, made resolutions, but I have to admit, I've had fun making my own lists to start the new year. I can't say that I've crossed everything off my list or even remembered what was on the list after a few weeks, but I continue to find things to add for the new year. It's fun! Weather, Dishwasher & Douchebags, Oh My!

I hope this finds you all doing well and staying warm. It seems that most of the states are under severe flooding or a blizzard. Either way, you're fucked. You should definitely stay inside and keep yourself busy with porn and I happen to be able to help you with that. LUCKY!

I wasn't able to give you all a weekend blog because we were busy with my husband's family. We had his nieces and nephew over to play Elvis Monopoly, which has become a Christmas eve tradition. We drank, smoked and played Monopoly. It was a fun evening. On Christmas we woke up to 30 degree weather with 35 mph winds dropping the temp down to the low 20's. It was miserably cold. While we were saying good bye to the kids, sending them off to their mothers before she called yelling at us because they were late, I opened the door to see my dishwasher sitting on the front deck...Jackpot! A White Christmas

I've always wanted a white Christmas. I've lived in central Texas most of my life, but for a couple years I lived out west where they get snow. I always went home for the holidays. After I married Devil he took me to Missouri to visit my brother and his family, over Christmas. Would you believe that it was the first and only year that they didn't have a white Christmas? Even my brother, as much as he hates the snow, was hoping to wake up to a blanket of white but it turned out to be too cold for it to snow. I was so disappointed! Anyway, last year Devil woke me up so excited because it was snowing outside, in central Texas! I'm crawling out of bed, trying to not yell at him for waking me up, and he's pulling the blinds up to show me that it was snowing. I couldn't believe it and for about 30 seconds I thought it was actually snowing. Here's how he gave me a white Christmas: He took a picture of the window and using Photoshop he was able to put snow into the picture. Once he had that finished he took it to a print lab and had them make a poster that was the size of our window. On Christmas eve he went out into the 30 degree night to tape the poster to the window. He gave me my white Christmas.

I have to say, I'm married to a very thoughtful man who, for whatever reason, loves me enough to take the time to do something so silly, just to make me happy. I bet I told at least 10 people about my white Christmas before the day was out.

School Taxes

Tis' the season and school is out. Yesterday I was driving through our small town and what normally takes me 2 minutes took over 15 minutes because school was letting out early. I have to admit that I was a little irked when I realized the traffic back up was all due to the parents picking up their kids. I avoid our town between 3 and 430 Monday - Friday but yesterday I was on my way to a doctor and wasn't expecting it to be backed up at noon. So, here's my soap box. I pay property taxes, just like everyone else, but over $1500 goes to the school and last year there was an article in the paper about all of the new buses. I've noticed that all of the buses that go by our house are new and EMPTY! When did kids stop taking the school bus that we tax payers buy? It pisses me off that parents seem to think their kids are too good to ride the school buses when that's what we all did just 20 years ago. Not only that, but I have to pay out my ass in school taxes and for whatever reason the school has deemed it necessary to spend my money on brand new school buses that are empty!
